GridSafi

Facilitating Bankable Infrastructure Projects Across Africa

Infrastructure investment in Africa faces several recurring challenges:

  • Limited access to integrated data for infrastructure planning.

  • Climate risks affecting roads, energy, and water systems.

  • Delays in land acquisition and project design, often due to expropriation issues and limited clarity on land rights, which complicates site acquisition and due-diligence .

  • Fragmented coordination across sectors and agencies.

These issues hinder timely delivery of energy, water, housing, and transport projects, slowing progress toward national development goals.

About GridSafi

GridSafi addresses a critical challenge in infrastructure development across Africa: the lack of accessible, reliable, and integrated data for siting decisions. Developers and investors often face high costs and delays due to fragmented or outdated electrical grid infrastructure data and the absence of environmental and land use considerations in early-stage planning.

GridSafi proposes a web-based platform that consolidates grid infrastructure mapping, environmental overlays, site scoring analytics, and customizable reporting. It aims to streamline the due diligence process and reduce barriers to infrastructure development in Africa.

Our Mission

1

Accelerate Infrastructure Planning

By aggregating data on grid proximity, terrain, land ownership (where possible) and climate risk, GridSafi will reduce delays in project design and land acquisition.

2

Enable Inclusive Development

GridSafi will be used to prioritize infrastructure in underserved rural areas, aligning with national goals to reduce inequality and expand access to productive-use infrastructure.

3

Enhance Climate Resilience

With built-in climate analytics, GridSafi will support efforts to mainstream disaster risk management and climate adaptation in infrastructure planning.

Our Services

GridSafi is positioned to serve the Energy, Agriculture, Real Estate, Mining, Mobility and Logistics, and Civil Government by offering the following capabilities
